HD AutoCare ("HD AutoCare," "we," "us," or "our") is a car detailing business based in Burnaby, British Columbia, serving customers across Metro Vancouver. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or book a service, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors and customers in Canada and is written to align with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When you book a service or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your service address (for mobile appointments) or drop-off preference
  • Vehicle details (make, model, size/type)
  • Booking history — the services booked, dates, times, and pricing

We do not collect payment card information — payment is collected in person after service is completed (cash or e-transfer).

How We Collect It

We collect this information directly from you, through:

  • Our online booking form, when you schedule an appointment
  • Our "Call Me" callback request form, when you ask us to reach out
  • Direct contact by phone, text, or email

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule, confirm, and deliver the services you book
  • Send you booking confirmations and updates by email or text
  • Respond to callback and quote requests
  • Improve our services and customer experience
  • Measure and target advertising — but only with your consent, as described below

Third Parties & Advertising Cookies

With your consent (see our cookie banner, or in the footer of any page), we use cookies and similar technologies from the following third-party data processors to measure and improve our advertising:

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — the Meta Pixel helps us understand how visitors interact with our site after seeing our ads on Facebook or Instagram, and measure ad performance.
  • Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads help us measure site traffic and ad performance.

These cookies are not set until you click "Accept All" on our cookie banner. If you click "Reject Non-Essential," these scripts never load, and no data is shared with Meta or Google for advertising purposes. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain booking and contact records for as long as needed to provide our services, and afterward for our business and tax record-keeping obligations — typically up to seven years, consistent with standard Canadian business record-keeping practice.

You can request that we delete your personal information at any time by contacting us using the details below. We'll action deletion requests within 30 days, except where we're required to keep certain records by law.

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and ad tracking at any time, via "Cookie Settings" in the footer

HD AutoCare does not currently operate an email newsletter. If we introduce one in the future, we will update this section before it launches to describe what information is collected, how it's used, and how to unsubscribe.
